College Visits

 

Students are allowed three days per year to visit colleges and universities. These visits will not count against exam exemptions if your students follow all of the procedures below:

  1. 1. Pick up a college visit form Senior Office.

  2. 2. Obtain teacher signatures along with homework assignments and/or submit work due during absence.

  3. 3. Obtain principal signature.

  4. 4. Submit college visit form with official documentation of visit within 2 days of return.
    5. Student-Parent handbook, page 28. "seniors and juniors may have an excused absence for the purpose of visiting colleges/universities for a total of three days per year. Upon return from the visit, the student must give the appropriate administrator documentation from a college official. The three sanctioned college visits will not count against exam exemptions.

 

REMINDER:

Parents please remember the following process for your students regarding absences:

1: If your student is going to be absent, please call our office and report the absence to Ms. Oates, 464-4017, remember to send a note to our office when they return.

2: To release a student during the day: Send a note with your student in the morning and a pass will be given to them to leave class a t the designated time. the student will come in our office to sign out and then will meet you out in front of the school. When returning, make sure they bring in a doctor's note and sign back in if returning on the same day.

3: Students have 3 days after the appointment or absence to bring in a note to the grade level office for missing any classes

4: Students must attend part of the day in order to have the doctor's appointment excused. If the student is out all day with a doctor's note, then the absence will be coded a C and it is an absence.

5: A note must be submitted for any absences within 48 hours of the absence for any absence to be excused. Please remind your student of the importance of turning in notes. We cannot correct absences if notes are not received within our 48 hour time limit.

 

FYI Regarding E-News :

The RRISD E-News is not set up to update automatically from year to year When parents sign up for RRISD E-News, the specify what schools and grades their children are in. The way it is set up right now, parents will need to go into the system each year and change the grade level in order to receive E-News for the current year.

HOME ACCESS CENTER

Round Rock ISD has implemented an application that allows parents of sixth through twelfth graders to access certain student information on-line. With access to the secured area you will be able to view your student's daily attendance record, six weeks grades, schedule, and registration information. If you would like to request a password please go to the RRISD website at www.roundrockisd.org and select the "Student/Parent" link. Once the page is displayed, select the link labeled "Home Access" and follow the instructions provided.  For help or further information contact Ryan Skelton, ext. 4107.
