Union Hill Receives 4 TEA Gold Performance Acknowledgements
Union Hill received four 2008-09 Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency. TEA recognizes districts and campuses for high academic performance on various indicators. Commended subject awards are given for having 30 percent or more of students in each student group scoring at or above TAKS commended level. Comparable improvement awards compare a school's performance to a group of 40 similar schools.
Union Hill received Gold Performance Acknowledgements for:
- Commended Math
- Commended Science
- Comparable Improvement Reading/English Language Arts
- Comparable Improvement Math
Union Hill Earns "Exemplary" Watt Watcher Award
Union Hill received a "2009 Exemplary School" award from the Round Rock ISD Watt Watcher program because the school was among the top energy savers during the 2008-09 school year. Displaying the banner are Ms. Mann, kindergarten teacher and Watt Watcher sponsor, Ms. Nelson, principal, and Ms. Powell, assistant principal.
Union Hill Earns Exemplary Rating from TEA
Just for Kids Award and Texas House Resolution
State Representative Diana Maldonado and Dr. Jesus Chavez, RRISD superintendent, (center) presented a Texas House resolution to the Union Hill leadership team on April 23, 2009 at a Round Rock ISD school board meeting. The resolution honored Union Hill for receiving the "Just for Kids" Award.
