TRANSPORTATION MECHANIC EFFICIENCY
The Transportation Department places extra care in maintaining the bus fleet to ensure student safety. Nine mechanics maintain the 180 bus fleet and approximately 85 additional other vehicles.
The buses are inspected before every route by the drivers and taken out of service if any mechanical problem is found. The number of vehicles off line for maintenance is a primary indicator of mechanic efficiency and fleet safety.
