IB World School Celebration
On Wednesday, April 16 Stony Point High School celebrated receiving IB authorization.. The school has worked for the past several years training teachers and students for Stony Point to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum, primarily aimed at students aged 16 to 19. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.

According to the International Baccalaureate Web site (www.ibo.org), students in the IB Diploma Programme learn more than a collection of facts. The programme prepares students for university and encourages them to:
• ask challenging questions
• learn how to learn
• develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture
• develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures

Stony Point joins Westwood High School as the only two high schools in RRISD to offer the program. Other schools who have earned an IB World School designation include Anderson Mill Elementary, Grisham Middle School, and Spicewood Elementary.

Parent Satisfaction Survey
Round Rock ISD is soliciting input from parents regarding their satisfaction with RRISD schools and the education their children are receiving.

RRISD is committed to high student achievement, creating safe and nurturing schools, and operating effectively and efficiently. To help us measure how well we are succeeding, we are asking you to complete a survey about the school(s) your child(ren) attends. We value your opinion and believe that your responses will provide us with information critical to our continuous improvement process. The Spring 2008 “Parent Satisfaction Survey” is available online in both English and Spanish versions.

Each year, results of these surveys, as well as feedback from teachers and students, have been analyzed by Site-Based Advisory Teams, campus staff, and district personnel to identify existing strengths and areas for improvement. Surveys will be accepted until May 22.  All responses will remain anonymous.

You may direct questions about the survey to: survey_web@roundrockisd.org
