Come see the SPHS Dance Department in the annual All-District Fall Dance Show this weekend. It’s called Intersection and show times are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. tomorrow at the RRISD PAC (next to McNeil HS). There is no cost to get in, but a small donation at the door is appreciated. The show is only 45 minutes in length. We hope to see you there!

The nurse is seeing a lot of students with stomach ailments and fever. Avoid sharing things to eat, drink, using the same utensils, and stop that kissing so you won't get the same illness. Wash your hands, cover your cough/sneeze and stay home when you have a fever.

This past Saturday, the SPHS Speech and Debate Team went to the Heart of Texas National Forensics League Novice Tournament; Sierra N and Kendall N both went 2-1 in three rounds of LD Debate. Jordan M won awards in both Prose and Humorous Interp. Congratulations, Tigers

Congratulations to the Stony Point Cross Country teams on another successful season. The Varsity Boys finished 4th at district. Mark P is district champion: a first in Stony Point history and he advances to the regional meet this Saturday in Arlington! Becca O placed 9th to become the first girl in Stony Point history to advance to the regional meet as well. Best of luck this weekend!
Congratulations to the JV Boys golf team for finishing 4th in their golf tournament at Black Hawk Golf Club on Tuesday. The team consisted of Braxton H, Chris S, JC Q, Brad C, Jordan M, and Austin M. Braxton H finished 3rd overall with a score of 76. Way to go Tigers.

A mandatory practice for the induction ceremony will held in the Lecture Hall at 3:45. All officers and inductees must attend! All Inductees must also pay their dues and T shirt fees at the practice. All Inductees must be in the Orchestra Hall by 6;45 on the night of the induction. All NHS officers and any current members wanting to earn NHS hours must be in the Orchestra hall by 6:30. Also, any current members who have an off period Wed afternoon and want NHS service hours are encouraged to come to A163 to help with preparations. See you then!

If you're interested in having your senior portraits taken right here in school, then stop by Journalism Room F117 to sign up. You can have a full portrait session or just have a cap and gown photo taken. Remember, you have to make an appointment, so see Mr. Shands in room F117.
Also seniors, November 19th is photo retake day. In addition to portraits and cap and gown photos, Photo Texas will be taking yearbook retakes in tuxedos for guys and black evening dresses for girls. If you missed having your yearbook photo taken in September, then circle November 19th on your calendar. Yearbook retakes will be taken during all four lunches and you don't need an appointment for those . All photos will be in the lecture hall.

Hey Tigers! Next week is the big Football matchup against the Round Rock Dragons. However, we have an opportunity for a friendly pre-game competition that will also assist the needy. HOSA will sponsor the annual PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY BOWL. Stony Point students will collect Jelly, and RRHS will collect Peanut Butter, to be donated to the Round Rock Serving Center. Whoever collects more will win the coveted PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY BOWL plaque for the next year. So get to the grocery store and buy jelly this weekend, and bring it room #202 at SP9 to B132 before next Friday.

Bring your gloves and shovel and meet by the Greenhouse near the faculty parking lot at 9AM. We need a few wheelbarrows too. Don’t forget water to drink! See Mr. Mosley in Rm B226 for more info. That’s Saturday, 9AM.

Teravista Elementary needs your help! We are in need of 2-3 student volunteers to watch children during a Love and Logic Seminar for parents. There will be 7-15 children for ages 2 and up. The seminar is on Saturday, November 7th from 9am-4pm. Food will be provided. Sitters would need to arrive at Teravista Elementary's PRO Center (located at the top of the main stairs) at 8:45. Round Rock ISD Health Services will be holding a seasonal FluMist Clinic TODAY from 4 to 7 p.m. at the RRISD Performing Arts Center, 5800 McNeil Drive, Austin. The FluMist can only be administered to children ages 2 to 19 who do not have asthma or reactive airway disease and are not allergic to eggs, gentamicin or gelatin. Parents must accompany students who are receiving the vaccine. Approximately 500 doses will be available.
If you are interested in trying out for Tiger Dancers, than attend the mandatory parent/student meeting on Monday, Nov. 2 in the Ninth Grade Center Lecture Hall from 7-8 p.m. Those in attendance will need to know their ID number, school schedule with teacher's first and last name and bring a pen or pencil. Each student trying out will need to have a parent or guardian with them for the meeting. Tiger Dancer tryout week is Nov. 30.

This young woman was badly injured and disfigured by a teenage drunk driver, and her story provides a poignant message for Red Ribbon Week. That’s Channel 16, in just a moment.
