Mar. 1 DECA, State Conference Four students were chosen at the State DECA Conference in Corpus Christi to compete at the International DECA Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.  The following students will be representing SPHS in Atlanta at the end of April: Alejandro G., Rachel S., Devann K., and Bianca R.. In addition, David G. was honored with an alternate position in his competitive category!
Feb. 29 HOSA Area Competition
Marble Falls
Nine of our Stony Point students competed in the HOSA Area competition. Three of our nine students placed in their specific event:  Lindsay W., freshman, received 2nd place in Medical Photography and advances to State; Blake L., freshman, received 3rd place in Prepared Speaking and advances to State; Ahn P., sophomore, received 4th place in Extemporaneous Poster and will be the first alternate at State.

Feb. 28 Stony Point Symphony Orchestra - Sweepstakes Trophy
UIL Full Orchestra Concert and Sight-Reading Contest
The students did an outstanding job representing Stony Point and were awarded a Sweepstakes trophy, having received superior ratings from all six judges - these are the highest ratings that can be given. These students have worked very hard - the full orchestra can only rehearse outside of the school day, as it is a combined group of band and orchestra students.

Feb. 3 Michelle Castillo-West Presented "Uncovering a Poet's Treasure: Found Poetry" at the UTSA San Antonio Writing Project "Showcasing Writing Across the Curriculum".  Ms. Castillo teaches 11th grade English at Stony Point.
