  Tigers in Service

We request each of our students to do ten hours of volunteer work in our community each school year.  Students who complete at least 80 hours will receive a community service cord to wear at graduation.  Our goal is that Stony Point High School takes its place as a contributing member of our community

The Tigers in Service Program will help our community to receive the assistance it needs through volunteers.  Most important, the people of Round Rock and Austin will get to know our students as they share their talents and energy, and our young people will become a part of their community by helping others.

Our student volunteers will keep track of their hours over the course of their high school career.  After volunteering, the student completes a Tigers in Service form, has the form signed by a supervising adult, and submits the form for verification.  They will have documented volunteer hours as they apply to colleges, employment, scholarships, and technical schools.  Universities and businesses are always looking for well rounded applicants. These students will have an edge over other candidates who have not volunteered. There is so much talent and enthusiasm among our young people, we know this program will be a success.   For more information, read the guidelines on the application.

Parking Permits (be sure to read "Parking Policies" below)

All students driving to school must purchase an SPHS parking decal/tag from the administrator's office.
This decal/tag must be displayed as specified in the school parking policy. School personnel who issue decals will distribute individual campus parking guidelines when decals/permits are purchased.
Towing of vehicles, fines, and/or disciplinary action will be enforced for vehicle violations.
Students may return to their cars only with prior permission from the appropriate administrator.

Parking permit forms are located in the main office
on the middle shelf of the bookcase.

A parent signature is required
along with payment of $20.00**,
proof of current insurance,
current drivers license and
current student ID.

**If paying by check, RRISD District policy requires a driver's license # on the check.

Permits will be issued during the first 15 minutes of each lunch,
Monday through Thursday.

Permit stickers must be adhered to the vehicle to be valid,
do not use tape to adhere it, that is a violation.

Parking Policies

All parking policies at Stony Point must be strictly observed:

Maximum Speed Limit:  10 mph

The school accepts NO responsibility for any possible damage, fire or theft.

Report all accidents to the Principal's office, as soon as possible.

All students are to leave their vehicles and parking lot, as soon as they are parked.  You can return to your vehicle after school...the parking lot is off limits during school hours.  No underclassmen will go off campus during the lunch periods.  Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action being taken.

Failure to place decal above the inspection/registration stickers warrants being towed!  (Do not use tape!)  Disciplinary action will be taken.

Do not remove a parking tag to another vehicle.

Designated Student Parking:
Park only in the EAST parking lot - in the space provided, between the white lines.  Do not park in the first row (both sides of the row) closes to the C-Wing as this is designated faculty parking only.

Do not back into parking spaces.

Students are not to use parking spaces designated as faculty/reserved/visitor/PAW prints/Senior Only, reserved.

Do not block driveways.

Do not park along the curbs.

No parking behind the gym, on the band practice lot, in the faculty parking lot on the west side of the building, or in the bus loading area in the front of the building.

SP9 Parking Lot
No parking at SP9 at any time.  Vehicle will be ticketed; $50 fine with boot.

Failure to comply with school parking and parking regulations may result in suspension of campus parking privileges, possible fine and/or suspension from school.

State Law requires that every driver show proof of liability insurance.

Temporary Tag
Students may not own two parking tags at once.  If a student is driving a vehicle that is different from the one listed on the permit form, a temporary tag may be obtained in the front office before the start of school.

Visitors:
There are 2-hour parking spaces in front on the school on Bowman Road for visitors.  These spaces do not require parking permits.

Substitutes & Volunteers:
Volunteers should park in the west side (faculty) parking lot.  Please see Kristi Anderlohr, in the Main Office, to receive a parking permit to place on your dashboard while parked in the lot.  This permit will be valid throughout the school year.

Teachers:
Faculty should park in the west side (faculty) parking lot, or the first row of the east side (student) parking lot.  Please see Kristi Anderlohr, main office, to receive a parking permit to display on your windshield.

Warning:
In Round Rock, the Fire Department has an ordinance that requires towing of cars parked in fire zones, followed by a ticket if the officer feels inclined to write one.  Please be aware that fire lanes, handicapped parking, etc. have 24/7 enforcement.  Leaving a car unattended in the fire zone does qualify as parking and will be cited/towed in the future.

Offenses
First $15.00 with boot
Second $25.00 with boot
Third $50.00 with boot
Fourth $50.00 with boot
Fifth $50.00 and towed

Vehicles without permits will be given 4 warnings before the vehicle is towed.  On the 5th violation the car will be towed.  SPHS uses Double R Towing, 1551 Providence, Round Rock (388-2049) as a towing service.  The price of retrieving your car starts at $65.00.

Legal Action
If caught tampering with the boot (school property), legal action will be taken.
