State Head Coach Sean Sutton announced the signing of
Demetrius Proby on Wednesday
afternoon, the first day of the early signing period.
Originally from Round Rock Texas, a suburb of Austin, Proby attended
Stony Point High School. He was named the team Most Valuable
Player and was a First-Team, All District selection, his senior
season. He was also named to the Austin All-Star Game in 2005.
"Dee is a very talented front-line player that we expect to come in
and contribute to our team next year," said Assistant Coach Kyle
Keller. "For a strong post player, he has the ability to step
out and shoot the three-point shot, as well as score in the paint.
His experience will also be a key addition for our front line next
season." Proby was also recruited by West Virginia, Nebraska,
Oklahoma and Charlotte. |
