Mary Sue (Susie) Baird

"The world is a little less
bright because Susie is no longer with us, but it is a much better place
because she was with us at all."
Susie Baird was so much more
than words can begin to describe. Whether you were a student, a colleague,
a friend, or someone she had just met, she was a daily inspiration to
those around her. Susie was a nurturer and was always there with a
positive word, a complement, or a shoulder to cry on. She was a great
inspiration and a bright spot in the lives of so many people. We will be
eternally grateful, and the legacy of Susie Baird will live on forever.
To ensure the legacy of Susie
Baird, a perpetually endowed fund has been established to provide
scholarships for Round Rock High School students. Individuals, companies,
and organizations can contribute by check or on-line through the
Austin Community Foundation website.
Contributions made by check should be made payable to Austin Community
Foundation with a note in the memo referring to the Susie Baird Memorial
Scholarship and mailed to: Austin Community Foundation, P.O. Box 5159,
Austin, TX 78763.

Thank you note to Round Rock High School
The Baird family would like to thank all of the
students, employees and faculty of Round Rock High School for your support
and prayers over the loss of Susie Baird. Your cards, visits, kind words
and presence at the memorial service meant the world to all of us. During
this time of mourning, it is nice to know how broad and deep our support
network goes. We are grateful that the love she provided our family also
reached many people in Round Rock over the years. Just as she touched your
lives in some way during the last 55 years, you all have touched ours in
the last few weeks.
We were always so amazed at the patience
and selflessness she showed to us and everyone she met and we will
continue to strive to be more like her in our lives. She is in a better
position to help guide all of us now. We continue to selfishly grieve over
her departure from our lives but take comfort in knowing the suffering is
over and that God is welcoming her to her new home.
Thank you again for your prayers and support
through this time. We will all continue to pray that another Susie Baird
will stop in to bless Round Rock for many more years.
Sincerely,
The Baird Family
