Ridgeview honored by Starry
- Ridgeview Middle
School has been named the winner of the Choices for Change contest
sponsored by Starry, a nonprofit organization serving children and
families in Williamson County. The contest, which raises awareness and
shares information about child abuse prevention, was done through
advisory classes and all students had the opportunity to write a message
on a star. The theme was Ridgeview Cares and students were able to
express thoughts and feelings for children living in abusive situations.
The centrally located display in the cafeteria also included definitions
of abuse, facts related to the prevalence of child abuse in Williamson
County and tips for prevention. Photos of the display and student
representatives from each advisory will be displayed on the Starry
Web site
during the summer.
