Join us for our last Parent Involvement evening of the year “CATCH” Night,
Tuesday, May 21st from 6:00pm -8:00pm. There will be Zumba , Kickboxing and
Cross Fit Demonstrations and a Health and Fitness Fair! A free snack will be
served starting at 6:00pm (Subway sandwiches) with planned activities
starting at 6:30pm. Mariachi and Ballet Folklorico will perform.
Congratulations to the following Art Students for scoring the highest
score on their art pieces at the Jr. Vase Contest. Students' art is on
display in the art case in the 8th Grade hallway. 8th grade students are
Sara Garcia, Ana Garcia, Alejandro Espinoza, Kiara Torres, and Dax
Emerson. 7th grade students are Isabel Metevier, Joanna Beesley
and Paulina Mendoza. The students are in Mr. Hasbrouck and Ms. Koch's
art classes.
Congratulations to Hernandez Middle School artists who placed at District
level competition. The following students in Mr. Hasbrouck and Ms. Koch's
art classes placed in the top three in their categories in the Secondary Art
Show. They have worked extremely hard all year and have helped to earn some
respect for the Hernandez Art Program.

The first ever Cross Fit Competition was held at Hernandez Middle School last week.

These students will go on to compete in the first ever RRISD District Cross Fit Competition on May 22nd, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the RRISD Athletic Complex.
PE students have been working very hard since the second month of school
towards this goal and they all did a great job this year.
