We administered a Student Recognition
Survey to all of our students during the Advisory class. We
asked the students to identify the areas that they wished to receive
recognition and to tell us how they prefer to be recognized for their
efforts. Our students asked to be recognized for the following: Perfect
Attendance, All As, A/B Honor Roll, Good Citizenship, and Most Improved.
They reported that instead of an Awards Ceremony each 6 weeks, that they
wanted to receive gift certificates, coupons, pizza parties, etc. As a
result of their feedback, we will be recognizing our students in the
following way:
All A's:
NJHS Certificate, Free Ice Bats Ticket, and an invitation to an after
school pizza party (Will be handed out in Advisory)
A/B Honor Roll:
Certificate and a coupon for Putt N Fun (Will be handed out in Advisory)
Perfect Attendance:
Certificate per semester and a coupon for Austin Park and Pizza
Grizzly Pride:
Window decal, pencil topper, and a reception to be held each 6 weeks in
our Library
20 Point Club: Any student who
improves a minimum of 20 points from the 2nd six weeks to the third six
weeks, will be a member of our 20 Pt. Club and will receive an
invitation to an after-school pizza party.
Grizzly PRIDE:
(Positive, Respectful, Involved, Dedicated, and Exceptional) Each
teacher will select a student who demonstrates the PRIDE characteristics
mentioned above.
Letters will be mailed to the parents of
the students nominated for the Grizzly Pride award. The teachers will
hand the student a copy of this letter the day before the reception as a
reminder. The receptions honoring our Grizzly Pride Students
for the 2006-07 school year will be held
on Oct. 3, Nov. 14, Jan. 9, Mar. 1, and Apr. 17 from 7:50 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. in the GMS
Library. We will have coffee, juice, and donuts for the students and
their families. We will also take a picture of our students to put on
display in our commons area for the next 6 weeks.
We will have an End-of-the-Year Awards
Ceremony on Thursday, May 10, 2007 in the GMS Gym.
Invitations will be mailed to the parents
of students who will be receiving awards at the May ceremony.
