On the first day of
School
Students
should only bring a pen or pencil, their planner and the
original copy of their schedule on the
first day of school.
The School Day
School begins at 8:20 a.m. and ends at
3:30 p.m. Each class lasts between 45 and 55 minutes.
Students will have at least 8 different classes and will have 3 minutes
to get from one class to another. Students will have a 20 minute
advisory after their lunch period.
Lockers
Students are issued a school
locker. Students may put locker organizers or mirrors in their
locker. In physical education, students will be issued a basket
and combination lock in which to keep gym clothes.
Homework
Students will have homework at
Grisham. Each teacher decides when and how much homework to
assign. Students should plan to set aside some time each school
evening to complete assignments. Students are encouraged to write
down the assignments in their Student Planner to help them remember the
homework. Students are also encouraged to record grades on a grade
sheet so that they will be aware of their averages on a daily basis.
Dress Code
Our Student-Parent Handbook lists
specific dress code regulations. The handbook is distributed the
first week of school and elaborates on district policy and
