Math Olympiad:
Several students from Great
Oaks were among the nearly 150,000 students worldwide to participate this year
in the Math Olympiad program. They participated in a series of five monthly
contests of 5 problems each, from November to March, and weekly practice
sessions under the supervision of Mrs. Baker. The students did well and all were
recognized with certificates for their participation. Eight students earned pins
for scoring in the top 10% of all participants.

Great Oaks Elementary students competed in
Math Pentathlon this Spring. The "pentathletes" competed and represented Great
Oaks very well. The official results are:
