Partners in Education Initiatives
School Supplies
Distribution – August, 2004
A record number of
RRISD students – more than 8,000 – received basic school
supplies during the annual distribution host by the Partners
in Education Advisory Council. Last year, 4,516 Round Rock ISD
students received supplies.
Funding and
in-kind services were provided by the RRISD Education
Foundation, For the Children, Wells Fargo Bank, Liberty Mutual
Insurance, the Round Rock Jaycees, the Junior League of
Austin, the Dell Foundation, the RRISD Golf Tournament, Round
Rock Womans Club, the RRISD Council of PTAs, McNeil High
School PTA, Round Rock High School PTSA, Westwood High School
PTSA, Deerpark Middle School PTA, Beverly Cowsert, Arby’s,
Pepsi, Gatti-land, and HEB.
Approximately 200
volunteers assisted with the pre-packaging and distribution of
supplies, including student groups from McNeil, Stony Point,
and Westwood High Schools, and the RRISD Partners in Education
Advisory Council, RRISD PTAs, RRISD Education Foundation, the
Chaparral Women's Club, Round Rock Jaycees, the Junior League
of Austin, One Way Baptist Church, El Amistad, La Amistad,
Liberty Mutual Insurance, Farmers Insurance, and RRISD
employees and board members. |
