grader can come to the meetings and participate.
Purpose:The Austin Energy Regional Science Festival
is one of Texas’ largest regional science fairs with over 2,000

innovative student research and provides scientists, engineers and
other professionals a chance to volunteer in the community.
Winning Junior/Senior Division projects advance to the
ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair.
Best of Fair Senior Division projects advance directly to the
Intel International Science and
Engineering Fair. Two high school and
two middle school projects focusing on applied engineering,
sustainable energy, or environmental engineering advance to the
I-SWEEEP International Olympiad.
The
Austin Energy Regional Science Festival is an Intel ISEF-affiliated
science competition that is held at the Palmer Events Center
during February of every year.
We are
also strong supporters of the
Texas Science and Engineering
Festival which is a
science Exhibition held in November at the Austin Convention
Center. This is not to be confused with the
ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair.
Unlike the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival, the
Texas Science and Engineering
Festival is not a competition.
"We need to teach our kids that it's not just the
winner of the Super Bowl who deserves to be celebrated, but the
winner of the science fair. We need to teach them that success is
not a function of fame or PR, but of hard work and discipline."
