Excerpt from Jaden Moyot Vs. Jesse Voyaler I wanted to find out why I was being taken from my parents, the parents that I learned to care for and love so willingly. I was basically being dragged by the officials when suddenly I got loose. I ran as fast as I could back home to find the door strung open and the rest of the house a mess. I ran into my room to find all my belongings gone. It looked as if it had been hit by a tornado. I ran about the house searching hardly for a clue when there, right on the wall, was a note from some unknown source. - Anonymous (8th)

Excerpt from untitled story “Okay Ms. Critolli,” Dr. Richardson started. “Time to find out the truth.” He explained that they will try every technique they had. First they tried a gas. Grace clutched Aubrey’s hand the whole time. Jeremy got the other. Suddenly, Aubrey jolted upward. “Oh baby! My little baby! Come on!” Grace yelled. Jeremy took Grace’s other hand. She looked at him. “We’ll get through this.” He whispered. Suddenly the tone of the heart rate monitor became the same. Grace and Jeremy stared at it. “Baby no! Please no!” Grace yelled, tears streaming quickly down her face. She looked up. “Oh God! Please no!” She glanced at the monitor, to the ceiling and down at Aubrey. “Oh Aubrey please! No! Not yet! Oh God please! She’s only four years old! Oh God, oh God, oh God please!” She was literally screaming. “Ms. Critolli,” a nurse said softly. Grace stood up from kneeling. “I’m going to ask you to leave.” Grace looked at Jeremy. “Mom, it’ll be fine. Just go!” Jeremy said. She turned to the nurse. “Please take care of my baby.” The nurse looked her in the eye. “We will try out best.” - Jenny Nguyen |
