Artist Statement

My artwork does not really have a theme. I like to work with pencil and Prismacolors because I have better control and I can shade better than I can with paint. When I am in different moods, I like to express myself in different ways. When I am in a good mood, I use bright, lively colors. If I am sad , I use dull, dark colors, or include what I am upset about.

I get my inspiration from my imagination, books, pictures, and the things and people around me. If something important is going on in my life, I might incorporate it into my work.

I like to draw people, but I have a hard time getting proportion and noses to look right. Shading is kind of hard for me, too. I want to improve in these areas this year in class. I really like art, and I want to do well.
