Artist Statement:
 

I prefer to incorporate nature into my work. I’m fascinated with animals and the ‘outdoor world,’ so to speak. I love ‘cool colors,’ such as blues, greens and purples. Many of my drawings either have horses or cats in them. I don’t know why (more than likely because they are my favorite animals).  When I do projects in my Altered Book or when I do collages, I like to use torn papers and some pictures, and I will draw over the rest.

When I am given an assignment, I usually will work out a general picture in my mind, and then I will work out the rest as I am doing my project.

My work has really changed and become more realistic and solid than from my many horse sketches in kindergarten. I've also broadened my horizon to drawing more than just horses. I've become better at drawing felines, dragons, canines, bears, and many other animals, as well as people. I've developed a growing interest in anime cartoons, and I can draw them fairly well, too.
