Acclaimed Author Jordan Sonnenblick Visits CeVMS!

Jordan Sonnenblick, author of Cedar Valley's Read It Forward! book, visited with all students today. After Ever After, sequel to Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie, is the story of Jeffrey, a young cancer survivor. His struggles to adjust to middle school while overcoming the side effects of chemotherapy, is inspiring. Our students read the book and responded overwhelmingly to our collaboration with other middle schools to raise money to benefit Dell Children's Medical Center Half-Pint Library.

Mr. Sonnenblick is a former middle school teacher who writes stories that resonate with kids everywhere. He lives with his family in Pennsylvania and finished his ninth book on the plane to Austin for this visit.

Campus Beautification Day!

Thank you to all the students and parents who helped make this year's beautification day a HUGE success. We were able to put out 5 tons of limestone rock, 2-1 ton boulders, several plants and flowers, 75 bags of mulch and a load of crushed granite.

We started at 8:00a and were able to finish by 11:00a. I am proud of the hard work and dedication that everyone displayed. The front entrance looks great and thank you to everyone who helped.
