BRAIN GAMES at CARAWAY

BRAIN GAMES is an after school program at North Oaks that teaches critical thinking skills using a game format. This has been shown to improve math and reading skills and TAKS scores. It also gives the student life-long leisure skills that help keep the mind sharp.

For the time being, the games included are Chess, Checkers, Connect 4, Go, Mancala, Mastermind, Scrabble and Math Pentathlon games. Games are provided.  All these games, except chess, have very simple rules but take a lifetime to master. There will be some basic instruction in the rules and moves.

Brain Games will meet on Fridays in the Science Lab from 2:45-4:15. Mr. Nyman is the sponsor of Brain Games.

Parent volunteers and players are always welcome.
