Dance Expectations

1. Students must present a current Canyon Vista ID Badge at the door to be allowed into the dance.
    
2. Only current Canyon Vista students may attend the dance.
    
3. Students must attend school on Friday in order to be at the dance. If a student is suspended or has been assigned In School Suspension on the day of the dance or the Friday before a Saturday dance, the student may not attend the dance.
    
4. Students who failed a class the last six weeks and are not passing one or more classes on their 3-week progress reports, may not attend.
    
5. Students may not bring hats (unless it is part of the theme….for example, cowboy hats for a “western” theme), walkmans, ipods, backpacks, cameras and other valuable personal items to the dance. Purses will be the responsibility of the student.
    
6. Slam dancing, chain trains and “dirty dancing” are not allowed. Feet must remain on the floor.
    
7. Shoes must be worn at all times.
    
8. Food and drinks are not allowed in the MPR.
    
9. Normal school dress code is enforced at all dances. This includes no spaghetti straps and strapless shirts. Midsections must be covered.
    
10. Dance hours are:

• 6th grade 7:30 – 9:40 pm
• 7th grade 7:30 – 9:50 pm
• 8th grade 7:30 – 10:00 pm
