The Capital One Bank "In My Own Backyard" Art Contest was held this past weekend in conjunction with The Old Pecan Street Festival. Several students from RRISD submitted artwork for a chance to win one of several cash scholarships. Zoe B., 7th grader at Canyon Vista MS won a 2nd place prize of $300, 8th grade Canyon Vista student, Matthew G. won a $100 prize for his 6th place entry, and 8th grade Canyon Vista student, Haesoo L. won a $100 prize for her 8th place entry. Capital One Bank will present the students with a check at their respective schools sometime in the coming weeks.
