New Canyon Vista Middle School Principal Named - Canyon Vista welcomes Barbara Paris

November 2007 - Barbara Paris has been selected as the new principal for Canyon Vista Middle School. The appointment was announced by RRISD Superintendent Dr. Jesús Chávez at the RRISD School Board of Trustees November meeting. Current Principal Lisa Napper was named Director of Staffing in Human Resource Services in August 2007.

Paris has been an educator for 26 years and has experience in three countries and three states. She is also the president-elect of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. She has experience as a building principal and is currently the District Curriculum Director of Hubbard ISD.

"Based on our screening, assessment and interviews, it is evident that Barbara Paris is an outstanding administrator who has a passion for middle school," RRISD Superintendent Dr. Jesús Chávez said. "She is an instructional leader who believes in high standards and expectations for all students and values collaboration."

Paris received her bachelor degree in education-secondary from the University of Exeter in England, a masters degree in education-secondary from Brookes University in England, and a masters degree in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University.
