Prerequisites

Grade 7 or 8 standing

 

Purpose

Leadership provides a foundation for students' growth as leaders while providing opportunities to exercise their leadership skills to benefit others. Students are accepted based on submission of an application along with teacher recommendations.

 

Team Leadership

  • Emphasizes character development, cues for making a good first impression, self confidence, and public speaking.

 

PAL (Peer Assistance & Leadership)

  • Students are trained to be effective group facilitators and mentors.

 

Peer Mediation

  • Through a 7 stage process, Leadership students guide their peers to resolve their own problems.

 

Community Service Projects

  • Students use the planning process to develop, design, and carry out projects to help make a difference for others.
