Tardy Policy 2009-2010

Students who arrive late to school must sign in at the attendance window. Students may sign themselves in, preferably with a parent note explaining the reason for arriving late, or a doctor’s school excuse. This sign-in provides the office with a record of the time a late student arrives.

Students are considered tardy:

• when arriving late to school due to oversleeping, missing the bus, etc.
• when arriving late to the classroom after each passing period between classes.

Students are NOT tardy:

• when the student is late due to a doctor’s appointment that same morning. A school excuse from the doctor’s office is requested.
• when the student is late to school due to illness that morning. A parent should accompany the student to the attendance window to sign the student in. If this is not possible, the student may bring a note signed and dated by a parent explaining the reason for arriving late.

Tardies accumulate for an entire semester and will start over each semester.
