• RRISD Board approves Teacher Incentive Program - The RRISD Board of Trustees approved the District Award for Teacher Excellence (D.A.T.E.) grant at a called board meeting on April 10 and the district will begin implementing the three-year grant program to provide incentive pay to teachers across the district who positively impact student academic achievement. More 

• Sign up to join the Citizens Bond Committee! The Citizens Bond Committee will review the possible need for a bond election in fall 2008. The committee will begin meeting in mid-February and anyone in the community can sign up to become a member of the committee. The Bond 2008 priorities may include items pertaining to growth, safety/health, curriculum/technology, and infrastructure needs. The Citizens Bond Committee would present its findings to the Board of Trustees in June for possible consideration for a November 2008 bond election. Sign Up 

• Sign up to become a S.T.A.R.S. Mentor - RRISD's S.T.A.R.S. (Supporting, Teaching and Reaching Students) Mentor program is a school-based, motivational program encompassing grades K-12. Mentors are matched with a student in a one-on-one relationship and meet regularly on the school campus for 30 minutes to an hour one time per week. More 

• Westwood named one of best high schools in US - Just days after learning it was listed as one of the Best Public Schools in Texas by Texas Monthly magazine, Westwood High School received another designation. U.S. News and World Report awarded the school a silver medal in its first ever ranking of America's Best High Schools. More 

• 93% of Round Rock ISD campuses receive Gold Performance Acknowledgments - the Texas Education Agency released its 2006-2007 Gold Performance Acknowledgments (GPA). Round Rock ISD has 93 percent of campuses, or 37 of 40 campuses, earn one or more Gold Performance Acknowledgments (including Canyon Vista). More
