Students in
grades K – 2 will come to the library on a regularly scheduled basis for
literature appreciation and Story Time. Teachers in grades 3 – 5 will
collaborate with the librarian to schedule their classes for specific
skills and activities to enhance and support the classroom curriculum.
Canyon Creek Library is an open
library. This means that all students may come independently every day
to return and check out books. Students in Kindergarten will participate
in an orientation period on the proper care of books and to learn the
procedure to checkout before they will be bringing their first book
home. Kindergartners may check out one book at a time. First through
Fifth grade students may check out five books at a time. Books circulate
for two weeks. If the book is needed for a longer period it can easily
be renewed.
Overdue notices are printed once a week. These are just reminders,
as we do not charge fines. These are sent home to be helpful to you the
parent in keeping up with the books your child has out.
The Canyon Creek Library currently has 13,574 volumes in our book
collection. We are growing!
