Welcome to Brushy Creek Elementary!
Brushy Creek Elementary is nestled into the heart of Round Rock, serving
nearly 800 students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade and their
families. We are a culturally diverse community, educating children
from all over the globe. We are also celebrating our third consecutive year
of an exemplary rating from Texas Education Agency and our designation as “one
of the best schools in Texas” by Texas Monthly magazine. We can’t
hide our BLUE JAY pride!
Brushy Creek Elementary is a lighthouse for public education. This is THE
school that all students, parents and educators are drawn to because of the
quality of education provided here. Pride is evident at Brushy Creek
Elementary, exemplified through frequent school events and celebrations
attended by all members of our school community. When people hear the name
of our school, it is synonymous with exemplary education.

First Grade Service Project |

Brushy Creek's first grade
teacher, Mary Jane Flynn, enlisted the help of her class to
help her son Captain Tommy Flynn, and the other U.S. soldiers at his
side, rebuild an Afghan school destroyed in a bombing. First grade
asked all students to donate school supplies for a school in
Afghanistan that had been rebuilt by the U.S. Army. News 8 Austin
and KEYE-TV came to school to interview Ms. Flynn and speak
with the students about the work they had done. Students also had
the opportunity to participate in a Skype video phone call with
Captain Flynn, asking him many questions about what life is like in
Afghanistan for children. Representatives from Camp Mabry were at
school to collect the supplies. |

Summer Hours
at the Brushy Creek Library |
|
Our PTA has graciously
agreed to help our school community by opening up our library for
limited hours this summer! We will be open on select Mondays from
12:00-4:00 pm. Library books may be checked out by current Brushy
Creek students and parents for summer reading. Checkout limits will
remain the same as during the 2008-09 school year. All children must
be accompanied by an adult (age 18+).
From 1:00-1:45 pm on library days, we will have a storytime and
coordinating arts-and-crafts project in the library! We hope you’ll
be able to fit the library into your summer schedules.
Get excited about SUMMER READING!
