WatchDOG Dads Kickoff Celebration
Attention fathers and father-figures, on Tuesday September 14th from 6:30 – 7:30 pm we will have our 4th annual ‘Pizza with Dads’ Event at our school. You and your child will meet here at the school cafeteria for FREE pizza and drinks. Throughout the hour, we will have a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. The goal is to have these men spend at least one day a year at the school to be an extra set of eyes and ears as a positive male role model. Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school. Marathon Kids Kickoff
Marathon Kids® is a FREE running and nutritional program that promotes the development of a healthy lifestyle in your child! It challenges children to run/walk 26.2 miles over six months, in quarter or half mile increments. It helps your child feel a sense of accomplishment and pride by tracking progress on a mileage and food intake log, while earning rewards along the way! It can help parents, children, and families develop life long healthy habits when they participate in the program together.

Highlights Include: • Free Kick-Off Celebration on Saturday, October 9, at 11:00 AM at UT Mike Myers Stadium. Families welcome! o Children participating in the program earn a free Reward Water Bottle after running their ceremonial laps around the track. Please note: Seating will be first come first serve open seating this year. • Free Final Mile Celebration Saturday, February 26, at 11:00 AM at Austin ISD Burger Stadium. Families welcome! o Children who participated in the program and attend this event earn a free Finisher’s Medal upon completion of their ceremonial laps around the track. Seating will be first come, first serve open seating this year. • Children MUST attend the Kick Off and Final Mile events to earn a Reward Water Bottle and Finisher Medal. • Free Finisher Shirts are sent directly to schools for those children who complete the Marathon Kids Program!

There is no cost to students, parents, teachers or schools. Students and their parents commit to the challenge of running or walking 26.2 miles over six moths during this program by completing, cutting and returning the registration form below to their PE/Classroom teacher.
