Safety Patrol
Fifth grade students arrive early every morning and stay after school each afternoon to help keep all Anderson Mill students safe.  Students are assigned posts to help direct traffic and assist students to their cars.

AMIGOS
5th grade students, nominated by the teachers and staff, participate in monthly service projects at school and in the community.  Students learn about a school or community issue, devise a plan of how they can help, and carry out the service project with the help of staff sponsors.

Spanish Club
Spanish Club gives 5th graders and opportunity to enrich their understanding of Spanish speaking cultures and learn new skills in a fun format.  Past activities include cooking, arts and crafts, dancing, and a field trip to a local Mexican restaurant.  Students must show IB traits and come recommended by their homeroom teacher to become a member for 1 semester.  Spanish Club meets 6 Tuesdays each semester from 2:45-4:10 pm.
Broadcast- KAME
5th grade students are responsible for putting on KAME, Anderson Mill's morning news station.  Responsible students arrive early each morning and serve as director, anchors, sound technician, and mixer.  Other students contribute to the broadcast by producing and recording other special interest segments such as "Fitness Girl."  All classes in all grade levels take turns reporting for the morning pledges.

Peer Mediators
4th and 5th graders, nominated by their peers and teachers, attend 9 hours of training to become peer mediators.  Throughout the year, these mediators assist with small peer conflicts on the campus by offering mediation sessions for the students involved in the dispute.  Peer Mediators also serve the school community by making morning announcements on the importance of managing anger and conflict in peaceful ways.

SWAT Team
3rd, 4th and 5th graders, nominated by their teachers and staff, participate in monthly meetings with staff sponsors to discuss ways to promote tolerance on the campus.  Information learned in the meetings is shared in homeroom classes, at IB assemblies, and on the morning announcements in order to promote tolerance with all students on campus.
