Beyond the challenging and rigorous academic program, IB offers a close community of students who motivate and challenge each other in numerous ways. It is very common for students in the IB program to have multiple classes together.
Between students, however, something more than a similar academic interest is established. Many IB students and find that they can relate to fellow IB students on a deeper level. Within the IBSO, lasting friendships are established. You won't find an academic program with a closer group of high school students anywhere else in Texas.
Although much of an IB student's time is spent on volunteer services and school work, students enjoy quality time at IBSO social events as well. IB students make an effort to balance their schedule with rigorous work and play. Students also together participate events such as Brian Greene's promotion for his latest book on string theory.
It is a misconception that IB is strictly an academic program. Students gain lifetime friendships with their peers and teachers, and good relationships are valued just as much as academic success.
