Purpose:
Homework is used as a review, reinforcement
or extension of skills previously taught in the classroom. It
will be purposeful, meaningful and provide feedback to students in a
timely manner.
Recommended daily duration of student
engagement in homework activities (other than Daily Sustained
Reading):

Occasionally, grade levels will assign
special projects to students that may require additional time.
Homework will:

Be sent home consistently in every classroom.

Count for no more than 10% of overall grade.

Provide feedback for students.
If your child does not turn in a homework assignment he/she will
receive an OOPS! note. This note will serve as a two way
communication tool between school and home. As always, if you
should have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s
academic performance please feel free to call your child’s teacher.
