Parents/students who ordered Cedar Ridge High School t-shirts at the “floor signing” last month can pick them up on Monday at SP9 during the lunch periods.

The Stony Point Men's Soccer Team and the Stony Point girls soccer team hold open try-outs starting Monday,November 30. You must have a physical on file and be passing all classes. Boys sign up with Coach Rich and girls, with Coach Masanda. See you November 30!

Health Science Academy dues are now being collected for the year from all academy students. Dues pay for your t-shirt and toward your stole at graduation. Annual dues are $15 cash or check and can be paid to Mrs. Moore at SP9 or Mrs. Zernial at SPHS either before or after school. Please make checks payable to SPHS Health Science Academy. The first round of t-shirts will be ordered on Tuesday so please be sure your dues are paid by then in order to receive a t-shirt.

Today during all lunches -- StarBOOKS in the Library – have a cup of coffee, and talk about a favorite book. Remember, the Library will be open during 7th period ONLY for the StarBOOKS book discussion group. The Library will be open as usual, the rest of the day.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY First United Methodist Church is having their annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 5th from 8-11am. They’re located at the Southwest corner of Mays and 79 – the BIG church. They are looking for enthusiastic youth to help children make crafts, play games and to sell tickets. Announcements for Thursday, November 19 (A Day)

Football Booster Club will be selling Tshirts this Thursday and Friday in the Cafeteria and all Tshirts are only 5.00 each!!! Limited sizes available so get them early!!!

Football Booster Club is having a--- POSTER CONTEST – Game spirit posters at the stadium! Spirit posters will be judged during the first half of the game, at the stadium. Posters may be hand held or secured to the stadium 1st Place: $50.00 Visa Gift Card 2nd Place: $50.00 Restaurant Gift Certificate 3rd Place: $25.00 Restaurant Gift Cert. Posters must be in good taste – Judges’ decisions are final!

The Stony Point girls soccer team will be having tryouts the week of November 30th. They will start at 8 am down by the track. Please have with you cleats, shin guards and running shoes. Make sure you have a physical on file in the training room before that day to work out. Go see Coach Masanda in G143 for more information if you need to

Congratulations to the members of CLUE who participated in the Youth Cast Talent Show on Sunday night, where they won Grand Prize as well as Directors’ Choice and Judges’ Choice awards. Note: If you tried out for CLUE, the names of the second round picks are posted by the cafeteria and the choir room.

SPHS Speech & Debate Team had great success at Hays High School last weekend Congratulations to Mirusha Y: quarterfinalist in LD Debate. Sierra N: semi finalist in novice LD debate, third-place tie and top speaker in Novice LD Debate; Jordan M, semi finalist in Humorous Interp and Prose; and Brooke S, semi-finalist in Dramatic I and 4th place in Prose. Also contributing to the teams success were: Greg McN, Sabine W, Tyler H, & Kendall N.

Congratulations to Mark P. for placing 2nd at the state cross country meet! Mark will travel to Houston this weekend to compete in the Nike Cross Nationals. Good Luck Mark!

Congratulations to our Stony Point Football team who beat Cypress Falls 56-7 on Friday night to become BI-DISTRICT CHAMPIONS. Pre-game ticket sales for this Saturday's 6:00 p.m. game against The Woodlands @ the Woodforest Bank Stadium – in the Woodlands – will be Thursday and Friday during all lunches in the cafeteria. Ticket prices will be $4 for students and $7 for adults. ALL TICKETS WILL BE $8 AT THE GATE. There will be comp tickets for faculty and staff.

Announcements for Monday, November 16 (B Day)

Attention FCCLA members! There will be a mandatory meeting Thursday morning at 8:20 in room D114. You will discuss the county fair so if you plan to attend you MUST be there. See Mrs. Ozuna if you have any questions.

Our next Health Science Academy meeting is this coming Tuesday, November 17. 8:15am at the SP9 lecture hall or 4:30pm in the SPHS lecture hall. We will have a crime scene investigator as our speaker and he will be talking about a career in forensic science.Also, Dues for this year will be collected at our meeting on Tuesday. According to our bylaws, dues are $15 per year and cover the cost of your t-shirt, stole at graduation, etc.... Checks are preferred. Please remember that your check should include your parent DL # and have your name written in the memo portion on the bottom of the check. In order to receive a t-shirt, your dues must be paid!!!

Support your SPHS Tiger Baseball Team! It's time to order your Holiday cookie dough! And believe it or not....Pizza too!! Cookie choices are $15 for a 3 pound box of 48 individually cut cookies in various yummy flavors. Pizza choices are $20 per tub of 5 individual 5" pizzas available in cheese, pepperoni, or supreme. Support your SPHS Tiger Baseball Team! It's time to order your Holiday cookie dough! And believe it or not....Pizza too!! Cookie choices are $15 for a 3 pound box of 48 individually cut cookies in various yummy flavors. Pizza choices are $20 per tub of 5 individual 5" pizzas available in cheese, pepperoni, or supreme. Orders will be taken until the Thanksgiving Break and delivery will be made during Finals week. Orders can be placed at this time with a current SP Baseball Off-Season player.

Come out to the Stony Point Gym tonight for Lady Tigers’ Varsity Basketball as they take on the Hays Lady Rebels. That’s Varsity only, at 5:30 – so you’ll have plenty of time to get to the football game.

Bring the cookies to the Stony Point Library by Monday morning, and we will take them to Hopewell for you. Bring us a Tigers in Service form to sign. Please include the recipe so the soldiers will have the ingredients in case of allergies. For more info, call Ms. Moya at 464-5211 or see us in the SPHS Library.

Seniors, Photo Texas is bringing its portrait studio to Stony Point on Thursday, November 19th. Those seniors who want a full indoor portrait session -- including cap and gown photos -- can have their photos taken in the Lecture Hall next week. Seniors who want portraits need to sign up with Mr. Shands in journalism room F-117.

November 19th is also senior retake day. Any senior who was absent back in September can have their photo taken on the 19th during their lunch period. Seniors who need a photo retake do not need an appointment. They can go down during their lunch period for retakes. ALL PICTURES WILL BE TAKEN IN THE LECTURE HALL.

Football Tickets are on sale today and tomorrow for Friday’s First Round Play-off game against the Cypress Falls Eagles right here at the RRISD Stadium on Parmer at 7:30. Student tickets are $4, adult tickets will be $7. All Tickets are $8 at the gate. There are plenty of free staff tickets. Let’s all get out and support our Tigers in their playoff bid! GO TIGERS
