Tigers in Service
Parents & Students,
If you want to be added to an EMAIL GROUP that will send announcements regarding
student volunteer opportunities to your inbox, please email our Parent Support
Specialist, Stela Holcombe, at stela_holcombe@roundrockisd.org. You should
continue to check this website and listen to announcements for volunteer
opportunities. This will simply be one more way we share information with
you. And REMEMBER, if you commit to a volunteer project is it important
that you FOLLOW THROUGH-- especially if it involves child care at one of
the elementary campuses. Thank you for doing your best to represent the
Stony Point Tigers!

Volunteer Opportunity
First United Methodist Church of Round Rock is having their annual Breakfast
with Santa on Saturday, December 5th, 8-11am at the church in the Family
Life Center. They are looking for enthusiastic youth who would like to help
the children participate in making crafts, playing games and selling tickets.
If you are able to volunteer the entire time or just part of the time that morning,
contact Mendy Barnett, Breakfast with Santa Chair, nbarnett@austin.rr.com or
989-9920.
Volunteer Opportunity: The Reaching Out Center Food Pantry would love to have volunteers. We are open to our clients every Friday 2:00 – 5:00 and need help in packing groceries and taking them to their vehicles or helping with check-in. The pantry is located at 15630 Vision Dr., (inside the Snappy Snacks gates), in Pflugerville. Phone number is 251-4800. We serve a lot of clients from the Round Rock area.
Around Christmas, we will have the Celebration of Love, where volunteers will help give away food, toys, and jackets to 1500 families. This is scheduled for Saturday, December 12.
Stony Point Students Volunteer 60,000 hours
Tigers in Service is a student volunteer program. We request each of our students to do twenty hours of volunteer work in our community each school year. Students who complete at least 80 hours will receive a community service cord to wear at graduation. Our goal is that Stony Point High School takes its place as a contributing member of our community.
Where do I get the forms? To download a Tigers in Service form click the form link on the right
Where can I volunteer? Check out the links on the right for volunteer opportunities.
Where do I turn in my hours? Turn in your forms in the main office of your campus and don't forget to make copies of your forms before you turn them in! Your Tigers in Service form copies are an excellent resource when you fill out college applications, scholarship applications and applications for employment.
How can I find out how many hours I have turned in? Check the Tigers in Service bulletin board on your campus and email Tigers in Service if you have a question
Tigers in Service Guidelines
Students who complete at least 80 hours (an average of 20 per year)* throughout
high school will receive a community service cord to wear at graduation.
After volunteering, the student will complete the Tigers in Service Verification
Form, which they will submit to the main office. Students should
also keep a copy for their files for use on applications to colleges and
technical schools, employment and scholarships. Universities and

can often be the deciding factor for admittance or employment.
