Drivers License

Are you a student about to get your Drivers License? Here's some information you need. Students requesting a TEA/VOE (Texas Education Agency Verification of Enrollment) form as part of the license application process must be enrolled and in attendance for at least 90 percent of the days classes are scheduled for the semester preceding the date of the application. DPS requires a TEA/VOE form for each permit, license and renewal until the student is 18 years of age.

The VOE form is valid 30 days from date of issue when school is in session. During the summer it is valid from the last week of spring semester until the first day of the fall semester.

If you have been absent from any class more than 4 times during the previous semester, you will be denied a TEA/VOE form. If you desire a permit or a license, you must attend school.

Students may sign up for the TEA form in the black notebook located on the counter; right hand side of the main office. When school is in session, students should allow a minimum of 2 working days for the form to be completed. When the student's name is highlighted the form is ready for pick up in the front office. The form is not delivered to the student.

During the summer the forms are generally processed once a week. Please plan accordingly.

Tardy Policy

Teaching students to learn that being punctual is a requirement in most occupations is an important part of teaching the “whole” student.  That social part of their learning can be just as valuable to them as anything else that they learn.  For that reason, our tardy policy is something that must be supported and adhered to.

A student is considered tardy to class if he/she is outside of the classroom without a hall pass when the tardy bell rings.  Teachers follow the guidelines to ensure that all Stony Point High School students have the same requirements for attendance.

Repeated tardiness will be handled by the student's Assistant Principal’s office.

GUIDELINES:   Tardies accumulate for anentire semester – they do NOT start over each six weeks!

  1 - 4   Free
