Safe Schools/ Healthy Students (SSHS) Round Rock is a community-wide initiative of the greater Round Rock community
and the Round Rock Independent School District. The program brings 21 partner organizations together through the
Children's Support Coalition to build permanent capacity for increased school safety, violence prevention, and healthy
children in Williamson County.
VISION: All Round Rock children and families will increase in resilience
and strength, enjoy healthy childhood growth, and succeed in preventing violence.
MISSION: Strengthen families by providing flexible supports to Round Rock children and families.
GOALS:
SSHS will provide and maintain a safe school environment.
SSHS will reduce abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs/substances and incidents of violence on campus.
SSHS will improve mental health/wellness of all children and youth, especially those with complex needs.
SSHS will increase readiness to learn in children 0-5.
SSHS will develop a System of Care that reduces barriers to high academic achievement through comprehensive prevention initiatives that increase parent involvement.
SSHS will develop district plans, processes and policies that promote safe, drug-free and disciplined schools.
