We have two physical education and wellness teachers who team teach.
The PE Curriculum is interactive involving games, rhythms,
gymnastics, and units of sport skills that are appropriately
sequenced to each students maturity and ability.
In the fall, the Physical Education department has an outrageous
school wide field day in which students participate in all sorts of
fun and challenging games. Everyone wins a medal!
During the school year students participate in a cardiovascular
program called "Track Attack". Students log the amount of miles they
run. We have grade level competitions to challenge the students. The
class with the most miles earns the track attack flag which they
hang outside their door in the recognition of their efforts.
In conjunction with the Round Rock I.S.D. Elementary Physical
Education Assessment, all K-5 grade students participate in a
physical fitness assessment. Upper body strength, abdominal
strength and cardiovascular endurance are measured. A personal
behavior awareness survey is also included. Students may
"track" their physical fitness level throughout their elementary
career.
