The Fern Bluff Elementary campus has two
art studios that are staffed by art specialist. Students receive art
instruction weekly. In the art room, children work with a variety of
media from paper to clay.
Fifth graders earn the privilege of working
in a studio art format where they are able to apply their cumulative
experience to designing original projects. Youth Art Month and Texas
Public Schools Week occur in March. In addition to for public
viewing art displays at the RRISD Performing Arts Center and
Lakeline Mall Exhibit. Fern Bluff hosts a traditional Young Artists
Fair in which more than 800 pieces of children's original art works
are displayed in the halls in a gallery format for visitors to view.
The art work is self-selected by students prior to the show from
personal art portfolios.
