Mission Statement
The mission of the Round Rock ISD Educational Technology Department is to ensure the seamless integration of technology into the curriculum and foster acquisition of 21st century skills.

I.  Student Achievement

All students will meet or exceed performance standards with the support of technology integration into all curriculum areas.

Strategy
1. Support the delivery of digital content and technology integration
    in every classroom.
2. Promote student-centered authentic project-based learning.
3. Collaborate with curriculum coordinators to analyze research
    documenting the impact of access to technology and technology
    integration on student achievement to make recommendations
    for how technology should be applied to achieve educational
    objectives.

Performance Measures
1. Texas STaR level of progress
2. Percent of high quality student products
3. Percent of students mastering educational objectives
4. Customer surveys

 

II.  Safe, Orderly, and Nurturing Schools

Develop digital learning environments that support the district's acceptable use policy and cultivate user confidence.

Strategy
1. Develop and support the full range of 21st century skills 
    needed to thrive in today's educational environment and 
    tomorrow's workplace. (The new set of skills necessary
    to prepare students for life and work in the digital age 
    include digital literacy, inventive thinking, effective
    communication and high productivity abilities. CEO Forum
    on Educational Technology, June 2001.

2. Develop and assist with the implementation of Technology
    Standards for RRISD teachers and administrators to build
    district technology literacy capacity.
3. Review, revise, and design RRISD technology education
    web pages to provide two-way communication between
    school and community.

Performance Measures
1. Percent of staff and students performing at a Target Tech
    level as defined by the Texas STaR Chart
2. Percent of students using technology to develop 21st
    century skills
3. Percent of teachers using digital content allowing for
    greater levels of collaboration, inquiry, analysis, and
    creativity
4. Customer surveys

 

III.  Effective and Efficient Operations

All staff and students will use Baldrige criteria to continuously improve the integration of digital content and digital learning environments.

Strategy
1. Analyze data and target professional development to adjust
     instructional strategies
2. Coordinate activities for district technology showcase, analyze
    results, and make data driven decisions to improve next year's
    event
3. Assist campus in using technology to manage continuous
    improvement

Performance Measures
1. Percent of staff and students performing at a Target Tech
    level as defined by the Texas STaR Chart
2. Customer satisfaction surveys
